From airplanes to astronaut ice cream, there is a long history of the government developing a technology that later becomes adapted to civilian or commercial use. I remember using a location-based services app ten years ago when I was moving through the Iraqi desert in a tank. That’s right, the government was the first adopter of the type of technology that Badger now offers to business customers. A lot of people ask us how we got to where we are as a company – how we came to focus on mapping apps for mobile workers. We initially had the idea of simply putting business data on a map – in many different contexts, such as real estate, retail, and operations. Having business backgrounds ourselves, we saw the utility of being able to see data on a map to infer trends.
