It's very easy to import your existing customer and lead data into Badger so you can start seeing all your data in a map. There are a few different ways of importing your data so you can choose the one that best fits how you would like to work. If you're not sure which method is for you, give us a shout at support@badgermapping.com and we'd love to help.

Import an Excel/CSV File

Do it Yourself:

Before importing your data, check out this guide on formatting your spreadsheet.

There are two different ways to format your addresses to get your data plotted in your map.

The first way is to use Street Addresses: Have the Street Address, City, State and Zip Code/Post Code in separate columns in your spreadsheet for each account. You can also have the full address in one column but you should keep the format of your spreadsheet consistent.

You can also plot your Accounts using Latitude and Longitude: Add your Latitude and Longitude coordinates in two different columns in your spreadsheet similar to the format of a street address that has been separated into cells. When you import, our system will recognize that you have Latitude and Longitude columns instead of an Address and use your coordinates to plot your accounts. (Note: if you have both the Street Address and Latitude-Longitude on your spreadsheet, we will use lat-long to plot your accounts.)

To import your spreadsheet, log onto the Badger app through your computer browser:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click on the "Import Accounts" Button
  3. Click on "Import Excel/CSV then "DIY/Do It Yourself"
  4. Select your file and click "Upload"

Next, you will have to match your spreadsheet headers to account fields in Badger:

  • On the first page, select the field that has the name of your Customer/Account that you want to search by and select the Street Address. If you're using lat-long, select only your Account Name

  • Click Next
  • On the next page, select City, State, Zip, and any additional fields like email, Priority level, etc. If you're using lat-long, choose those columns on this page.

Connect to Salesforce:

Badger can connect to your Salesforce Account and import data directly. This is a bidirectional sync, anything you change in Badger will automatically update in Salesforce.

Add Accounts Manually

There are three different ways to add Accounts manually from the app:

  • Click or tap on the Accounts tab and then click on "+Add" and enter the account's information (you will need at least the Name and Address field).
  • Right click on the map to drop an account anywhere on the map. On the mobile app, hold/press your finger on the exact location of where you want to add an account and let go, a "Create account here" window will pop up. Click on that button to create an account.
